The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Angola to the United Arab Emirates, Albino Malungo, heads a delegation that participates since today, January 14, 2023, in the 13th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi. The delegation includes the Director of the Exchange Office of MINEA, Pierre Kiala, Director of the Office of Renewable Energies and Rural Electricity in office, Landa João, senior technician of the National Directorate of Renewable Energies and Rural Electricity, João Pataca, and the Consultant by the Minister of Energy and Water, Neusa Cumbe. The event gathers more than 168 members, represented by 108 countries and their respective States accredited in the Emirates. Angola has been a member of IRENA since January 26, 2009, when the Member States of the United Nations and the Regional Intergovernmental Organizations for Economic Integration decided, at an International Conference on Energy, to set up the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to promote cooperation in the domain and development of the use of renewable energy technologies. The Government of Angola, through MINEA, develops its National Energy Matrix, which already has 60% of its contribution from Renewable Energies.
